cocker spaniel
Frank asked:

My cocker spaniel had some serious diahrea for several days. Luckily, we followed our vet’s advice and she no longer has this problem. But during those days, she would lick herself constantly. Now, the diahrea is gone, but she has been coughing ever since she spent so much time licking herself. Does she have fur caught in her throat? Personality wise, she’s her usual self – the only difference is the cough. Should I be concerned? Thanks!
Wow, so many replies already! She didn’t spend any time at the vet’s – they told us to feed her a diet of chicken and rice for a few days to see if that solved the problem, and it worked wonders. I’m almost certain the cough is due to hair she may have licked off herself, but to be safe I will keep a close eye on her for the next few days.
Thanks for the replies. I’ve got a billion and one dog related questions to ask in the future, and this seems like a very knowledeable place to ask them!

My Golden Retriever is three years old and until a month ago I never had a problem with him sleeping through the night…from 10pm-6am. Now he wakes up in the middle of the night and want to be let out. At first I thought he needs to wee but that is not it. Any ideas how I can get him back to sleeping through the night?

frooliemew asked:

I have two young children and would like to get a dog. We have two cats but I feel like it’s time for a dog. I don’t want a large dog but I don’t want one of those small old lady dogs either (I won’t be putting it in the shopping cart to go to the grocery). I would prefer short hair because I don’t want to be vacuuming up dog hair all the time.

Hey Everyone,
Okay I’m buying a new house soon – 5 months – & when I do I’m going to buy a Toy Poodle. My partner is also going to get a dog but his not sure what breed he wants All he know is he wants a larger dog like an Akita. So any suggestions on larger dogs that would good to have with the Toy Poodle? We’ll get them @ the same time so they can grow up together etc.

Thanks Guys.

I live in California and have two small children. The people behind us just moved in and build a dog run up against the bordering fence. They also placed the dog house against the fence and the dog is trying to get over to my yard.

These dogs bark & growl all day long. If they make it through the fence or over the fence. Do I have the right to shoot the dogs?
