LizaChristine asked:
We just adopted a 1-year-old MinPin/Spaniel mix. She’s a great dog, very playful. She doesn’t bite or get agressive with us (which is grrrrreat!). But she was never trained, and still has a lot of “puppy” in her. She jumps up (over and over and over again no matter how many times you tell her “down” or “no”), barks like crazy at anything and everything that moves (even the neighbors that she’s gotten used to), and will pee/poop in the house if we allow her out of her cage for extended periods of time (even if she’s just come in from outside). I’d also like her to walk a bit better on her leash instead of doing her best to pull me around the block. Will an obedience training like PetSmart’s help with these things, or should I be looking at ways to train her myself?

I’ve had a number of dogs in my life and I’ve never taken any to training.
I wish I had. I’ve been taking my American Eskimo to training and it is such a big difference.
Those of you who have taken your dog to training, do you think it should be required by law so that dogs with ‘behavior problems’ may be saved?

I take my shih tzu on a 5 minute walk everyday (sometimes twice a day) and I let her run around outside and sometimes play fetch with her. Do you think she gets enough exercise?

jerryandashley asked: I have a 4 month old
golden retriever and he is the most energetic dog I have ever met. Everytime I go outside he jumps on me and scratches me. He has taught my other dog to do the same thing. What do I do?

?? asked: My 10 weeks old Shih Tzu puppy don’t like to go out for walks, although I tried to walk him twice a day. He would walk a few step and just start sleeping on the grass. During the day, my son wanted to play with him, but all he does is belly flops. I thought puppy is usually very playful and energetic. This puppy I have doesn’t like to move around at all, is this common for this breed of dog?

Roxi asked: A lot of people that I know are very afraid of the Rottweiler, mostly through what they’ve heard from somebody’s experience or simply because the dogs do exhibit aggressive behaviour to strangers around their territory or their family. Does anybody have personal bad experience with their pets or somebody else’s pets and if so, would you mind filling me in please. My two dogs, Roxy and Shaka are really my best companions and are part of the family. I trust them absolutely.
Thanks.

Jules asked: I just adoped a
dachshund and I learned that a harness is better for her than just a collar. When I looked online, the harnesses were between $30-40. Is there any place where they are less expensive?
