I have a 7 week old Miniature Schanuzer. I have had him for a week and already he is housebroke. I want him to eat the best food. What is a good puppy chow as he has a high chance of diabetes and other problems. We gave him a piece of cooked deer meat and he got the poops and vomited. Other than that he plays, sleeps all night, doesn’t bark or bite.

When he is 8 weeks we will take him to the vet for his first shots and to have him microchipped.

How can I keep the stray dogs out of my yard, other than shooting them with my BB- gun? The reason for this is there is a lot of mange and other diseases and I don’t want my puppy contracting them. Very few people take care of there pets around here.

My roommate recently bought a labrador puppy. We both love the puppy to death but we’re somewhat worried about raising her up in a small apartment.

We take her out for at least 2 long walks a day and on the weekends we go to the park or other areas where she can run to her heart’s content.

Is it ok to raise a lab in an apartment? Also, we’re not home for a few hours a day (between 9-12 and 1-4; M-F). Is it ok to leave her alone at home? She seems to be adjusting well but we’re worried if she’ll be excessively lonely.
