ryan_dunn102003 asked: I have a Jack Russell Terrier, just over a year old. I live in an apartment complex where a lot of people own dogs.
When I am walking my dog and he spots another dog, he wildly tries to pull me in that direction. If the dog is close, my dog lets out loud shrill screams and continues to try to pull me. It is almost impossible to control and its embarassing.
Other than that he is very well behaved for a JRT and he is real smart. Just a little wild in certain situations, this being the worst.
So what can I do to control this behavior?
he’s not aggressive in a mean way. He just is curious I think and wants to play. But he plays rough with other dogs like wrestling around and nipping (no intent to hurt). If I let him check out the other dog, They sniff, then start wrestling and the leashes get tangled up.

ScienceNerd07 asked: We tried Revolution, only to find fleas and ticks on our dogs (who are between 13 and 20#). Then we switched to K9 Advantix and not only is much more product used per application, but the spot is very gooey for a long time. Plus, the dogs itch at the application spot so obviously it won’t work in the long run. What have you used successfully?
Should we give Revolution a 2nd try? Is there something additional I can give my dogs so that they won’t itch from using Advantix? What about Frontline or Advantage or others?

Doctor DoLots asked: I am 25 and do voluntary work at a local animal shelter and have been there for 8 years and have unofficially re-trained a lot of rescue dogs and rehomed them successfully, but my friends believe i should do dog training professionally, how can i go about this?

Lee C asked: One of my friend’s dogs got attacked in the park but now I’m kind of scared that will happen to my dog. My dog is a 2 year old lab if he gets into a fight with another dog in the dog park how can I stop it? Cause you know how the dogs aren’t on leashes they just run around. How would I stop a dog fight?
If I did use pepper spray do I spray it at the dogs or where?

Anthony asked: My Chihuahua/Min Pin keeps lifting up his hind leg. He’s not in pain or anything he just lifts it up sometimes. He does it when he’s running and when he’s just standing. My mother said that that’s just what chihuahuas do and I wasn’t sure. Like I said he’s not in pain but he’s doing it more and more often.

Danzi asked: I saw a pit-bull type dog at the shelter with ears that were docked very short to the head. Does this indicate that this dog was used or was intended to be used for dog fighting?
What do dog fighters do with the ears of the dogs anyway? In old days didn’t they used to dock them real close to the head?

SEAMUS W asked: whenever I allow her off the leash, off she bolts, & sometimes I spend several hours chasing her(often through other peoples property)trying to catch her to bring her back home. Does anyone have any answers as to how I can stop this, or shops/companies where I can hire an electronic dog training collar as I think this is best way of resolving my problem,as she is big,strong & very stubborn. I live near Belfast in N.I
