i think my dog has fleas and ticks?

im almost 21 weeks pregnant and i think my dog has them…..he’s been itching a lot more the last few days and i just talked to my mom about it and she says she hasnt given him his tick and flea medication for a few months because she is an irresponsible non thinking retard.

could this have a bad effect of my baby in any way?? we’re going to get the meds today….but what about the house and stuff?
i mean while im pregnant…obviously we are going to rid him of it if he has anything….but right now the damage is already done if he has them…so could it be bad?
