Air purifier or vacuum for pet dander?

Have an 8 lb. “toy” miniature schnauzer. Not shedding, supposedly good for people with allergies, but my wife still has reaction to the dog. Are there any good vacuums or air purifiers which would help with limiting dander?

Would a Jack russell terrier get along with an english bulldog?
