nakitars asked:
I have an 8 month old Shitz Tzu and I have tried every method possible to potty train her. I read books, asked the vet and I’ve even crate trained her, but it’s like she refuses to learn. She goes out 3-4 times a day, which is all I can do since my husband and I work. Even though she stays in her crate, she still goes in there. I just don’t know what to do anymore. I have another dog, and training him was never this hard. At this point, it’s either find something that works or I’m seriously going to have to get rid of her. She is driving me nuts!

bigskycaninetraining asked: Do you prefer:
A positive trainer who uses postive motivation and clickers
A trainer who was a military/police dog trainer
A trainer who promises fast results using methods that include a choke chain or electric collar
A trainer who belongs to a reputable dog training association
I am a trainer and I am looking for public opinions. Just to clear that up for those who find the question strange.
I am talking about YOU as an individual, YOUR opinion whatever you are looking for in a trainer. Not what you recommend others.

Kelly S asked: My female dog, Macy, is a little over 3 years old. She goes out back in our yard and kills bunnies… mostly babies b/c they are easier to catch. My husband says we shouldn’t chastise her b/c it’s “nature” but I don’t like the idea of constantly discovering dead bunnies in my yard. Any thoughts? Should we train her not to do this? Or is there some way to deter the bunnies from my back yard in the first place? Thanks for any help!
I forgot to say what kind of dog it is, but I’m not sure it’s relevant… she’s a mutt but mostly black lab.

Amber asked: I definitely have the love for the animal and a fair knowledge of behavior as I have grown up with dogs, retain everything I hear or read about them, am fascinated by them, have trained my own dogs under the guidance of other trainers. I can certainly train any dog to do basic, beginning obedience. What do you suggest for someone wanting to train others people/dogs for money?
BTW, I am in California. That may make a difference in your answers.
