A male, 1.5-2 years old.

I never even considered adopting a pit or staff but there is one at the local shelter that I am considering.He’s a friendly, loving type of dog. Apparently, he’s good with both people and pets.

As you may guess, the family is fairly against bringing a pit-bull looking dog into the house simply because of its rep.

My question is if there is a greater risk attatched of bringing the Staff than there would be of any other kind of dog. But at least with other dogs, you would have a greater chance keeping it under control or protecting yourself if the dog were to get aggressive.

Thoughts/opinions?

All he wanted to do was stay outside, and howl at the fence, stopped eating, and stopped even wanting to have much to do with us. He has also started to mark his territory in the house which is something he has never done. He has also started to act very irritated with my child, who has been his best friend his whole life. I havent had him neutered yet because I thought he was just such a great dog, and I was afraid it would some how change him………….but now, he needs to change his behavior for himself and all of us too!!! So I guess my question is, will neutering him help him with all of these new behaviors, and will he become our sweet big baby again????

He finds every piece of paper or cardboard in my house or vehicle and rips it into pieces. It doesn’t matter how many times I correct him he still does it. Sometimes its important stuff but usually it’s anything he can find. Besides that he is a great dog and listens to everything I tell him. I think he may be a paperholic.
