The winner of the 2011 Westminster Kennel Club Dog show is named Hickory and is a 5 year old Scottish deerhound. The pooch is the first of her breed to win the coveted crown at the nation’s largest dog show held at Madison Square Garden, NYC. As part of her post victory media appearances the champion visited pediatric oncology patients at the Ronald McDonald House in NYC. (more)

Six new Breeds and more were on tap at the annual Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show Press Conference on Thursday, February 10, 2011 at New York’s Hotel Pennsylvania as the famed event prepares for it’s 135th competition on Feb. 14th and 15th at Madison Square Garden. The new breeds are: Bluetick Coonhound, Boykin Spaniel, Cane Corso, Icelandic Sheepdog, Leonberger, Redbone Coonhound.
