2012 Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show

The 136th Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show starts on Monday, February 13th and concludes on Tuesday evening. On Monday, the Hound, Toy, Non-Sporting, and Herding groups will take place. Television coverage starts at 8 pm Eastern Time on the USA Network. At 9 pm coverage switches to CNBC and will run until 11 pm.

Tuesday coverage is exclusively on the USA Network and runs from 8 pm to 11 pm. Tuesday features Sporting, Working, and Terrier Groups followed by the Best in Show Award.

Last year, “Hickory” won the coveted title “Best in Show”, a Scottish Deerhound.

The 2012 Show is again being held at Madison Square Gardens in New York City.

Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show

The 134th Annual Westminster Kennel Club Dog show starts today at the Madison Square Gardens in New York. The show runs through tomorrow.

You can watch this year’s show on the USA Network from 8-9 pm eastern time and then on CNBC from 9 – 11 pm Monday February 15. Tuesday on USA 8 – 11 pm eastern.

The 2009 Best in Show winner was a Cocker Spaniel.

Which name do you like best for a mini apricot poodle?

Roly or Lamby?

I read that Roly is the poodle on the British Soap Opera EastEnders, although I have never seen the show.

My puppy looks like a lamb, so I’m still confused about what to call him. Please help.

My kids suggested Kiwi, Poogie, Scamper, Poodle Pop, but I just dont know? I want it to be perfect.

How long should you walk a dachshund/yorkie mix?

a female dachshund eats newspaper after she gets her kibbles. Does anyone know the reason?

She is a 3 year old dachshund and the owner has her brother as well. Both are spayed . Her brother does not eat the newspaper like his sister does. Both eat the same diet and the same amount. The newspapers are layed down by the doggie door but both are house broken so the newspapers are there for their feet coming in and out. As soon as they eat their kibbles she goes over to the newspaper and tears and eat some, but not a large amount.

How do I train my boxer to behave with cats?

Why does my female dachshund doesnt want my male dachshund to mate her?

How can I help my antisocial dog?

My husband and I adopted a 4-year-old boxer from his coworkers because they recently had a baby, and the dog was very jealous. When we first got Sadie, she was very sweet. In fact, she is still an angel with us. But as time goes on, we have realized that Sadie is VERY jealous, VERY territorial, and is just not very socialized at all. It seems that those people did not ever have her around other dogs OR children.

Is there any way to socialize the dog at this stage? Some people have suggested that I get one of the training collars, and deliver a small shock via remote every time she is aggressive (when we are walking, usually). Does anyone agree/disagree or have any other suggestions? This is a very large dog, 70 pounds, and though she does not try to bite, she is very loud and menacing. Please help!
