How do you train a standard poodle to track?

I would like to train my standard poodle puppy to track scents. He’s still pretty young so I figure he’s the perfect age to start training. Any help that can be given would be great.

   poodles lack the drive to track. they’re companion dogs… not scent hounds. they’re not natural trackers and will never perform like a scent hound that has been bred for years to track. you have to start by associating a scent with a reward. make your dog understand that this equals that… teach your dog to alert you to that scent… either by sitting when he smells it, pawing the source, etc.. then give him a treat
