The only thing I have found to work for fleas is Advantage. I think Advantix is for fleas and ticks. You can get it on Ebay where it is cheaper than at a vet. Baths, collars, sprays, etc., have never worked for my animals. With Advantage, you dont have to worry about your house. Treat the dog, and any fleas living in the house will die, when they come in contact with your dog. The directions are for once a month treatment, but I have found I only need one application on them through flea season.

Some fleas and ticks have to be removed manually. Shellgard has soaps, shampoos and anti-flea powder. I let soap and shampoo soak through the hair for a few minutes, then use a fine-toothed comb to removes les animales. If there are really plenty of ticks, I bathe my dog 2x a week, then really follow up with anti-flea powder. In the farms they use a chemical (?) called Sevin as powder, letting it stay on the dog to kill fleas.

You have to pull the ticks off that is embedded in the skin, please say you have had your dog updated on the Lyme disease shots, if not you may have to have the dog tested for Lyme disease, for the how to get rid of the fleas and ticks, go on line and look up front line I am not sure but front line is used once a month on your animals and works great, also buy a tick and fleas shampoo and while bathing let the soap really soak in to the skin and rinse well. Check the Internet for front line that is the product you want to get if you can't find it my bro in law use to use yeast and water and bath the dogs in that, as they lived in jersey 10 aches of land and tons of deer ticks, it worked believe it or not. I suggest that only if you can not get the front line over the Internet. Good luck and I hope your baby is OK.

you should try Advantage®, Advantage® is a long-lasting, once a month topical flea treatment. This over-the-counter formula is for cats and kittens or puppies and dogs 8 weeks or older. Advantage® contains imidacloprid; this fast acting flea preventive stops fleas from biting in 3-5 minutes, begins killing fleas within the first hour of application and eliminates 98%-100% of adult fleas within 12 hours of use. The ingredient imidacloprid works by affecting the flea or tick"s nervous system. Because Advantage® works fast it has been found to be ideal for cats or dogs suffering from Flea Allergy Dermatitis. Dog.com uses a guaranteed US supplier for this product.

Active ingredient is Imidacoprid.

Directions: Apply to skin on neck at the base of the skull. Avoid superficial application to the cat"s hair. Only one application per treatment is needed.

Frequency Of Application: Research demonstrates that Advantage® kills re-infesting fleas within 2 hours and lasts for up to 4 weeks. It is recommended that in areas of high re-infestation, or if your pet has fleas, which may cause Flea Allergy Dermatitis, a monthly application should be followed. Do not reapply Advantage® for 30 days.

Special Precautions: This product is for external use only and may be applied on cats or kittens or puppies and dogs 8 weeks old or older. Please consult with your veterinarian before using on medicated pets, pets using this product with other pesticides and debilitated, aged, pregnant or nursing animals. This product is harmful to humans if swallowed. If this should occur, contact a poison control center. Wash hands thoroughly with soap and water after handling.

I just want to add the Dawn does work and Advantage works for my dogs. You can get it on line too. BUT I thought my doxie had fleas and turned out to be allergies. I was bathing him too much. Poor thing. I brush him everyday now and use Hertz Oatmeal shampoo for dogs. be sure to make sure it is fleas and not scratching from an allergy.

this will help you allot and it will kill any fistation on your dog and people .put vinegar in the the conditioner and start at the head because the fleas will try to get in her ears nose or eyes also .and rub it in real good have a brush handy and brush her hair out as she is wet and it will only brush off the dead ones and the dieing ones and the best thing when your finished lightly rinse her good and then rinse her after words with a light water with light vinegar in a separate bottle and put it around her again .and dry her off and the smell of vinegar is strong and the bug will stay off the dog please don't let the smell fade after a week and do it all over again to stay off the dog ..take care
