Alex asked:
Not often you hear of a baby in hamsptead being mauled by a rottweiler is it
corgi: not at all, but sometimes the Final Solution can only be reached one step at a time
animallover: If they are not Rottweilers, I believe you.

That would work for me. A dog is only bad if its owner makes them that way. However, there’s nothing wrong with being ‘working class’ , that would be the majority of the population wouldn’t it, me included.

I go with the first 2 but not the working class… they are the people who pay the bills….
I would sign up for banning the unemployeed who are sustained by welfare and government programs.

i am glad you changed your mind. hold on… did you? or are you being sarcastic?
i am guessing you finally realized that it is NOT the dogs themselves, but the irresponsible breeders and owners.

tottaly agree

Yes, especially the working classes.

You should need a licence to own any potentially dangerous animal. This should involve an IQ test and an ability to demonstrate an understanding of how to look after a dog.
Scousers, and people living in council houses/receiving state benefits should be automatically banned for obvious reasons.

I do not believe in banning any breed-what I think needs to happen is if you are looking to own a bully breed you should have to take a class and test and provide proof that you have passed a training class and then you get a license to own the breed-we don’t let blind people drive do we?

i agree. people should be tested before being allowed to own one my rotties breeder was very through about who bought her precious puppies. BRING BACK THE DOG LICENCE!!!

i think u should have to take a competency exam before owning ANY dog…. people are treating these poor animals like machines, inatimate objects, it irates me!! the other day i was out walking my shep mix and siberian husky pup i’m fostering and these ignorant teenage hoodlems were walking a cane corso telling it to “get’ m” at my dogs!!!! what the heck is wrong with people??!!! so sad to see a beautiful dog turned into something so ugly….

Yeah, lets ban the working class from owning dogs. While we’re at it, lets ban the working class from owning firearms, real estate, and ban them from drinking alcohol as well. After all we lower…er working class citizens should not even be called citizens now should we. Who do we think we are after all? You should stand up and declare that all working class sub-people are not covered by the Constitution, the Bill of Rights or the 10 Commandments (but we should still have to obey the 10 Commandments, as well as our federal and local laws – we just wont be protected by them).
In fact, all working class sub-humans should be demoted to the status of servant or slave class, and be subject to people who live in Hamsptead (where ever dahell THAT is)!
Obviously I’m being sarcastic. I do agree that people who own animals should be responsible, but someone tell me how you regulate morality. As for the writer of this question: Get a life there Julio Dam Foolio!

working class????
so your telling me that the working class can not manage their dogs? il tell you what, come to by house, and do ANYTHING to my dogs and try and get them to bite! thats a challenge!
March 8th, 2006 at 11:20 am
just violent.
March 10th, 2006 at 10:56 pm
working class?how derogatory are you?
March 11th, 2006 at 2:18 pm
Why not just ban guard dogs from ownership in the general public? Require a special license for their ownership. Let trainers have them and police, etc, but not the general public. And if there are any incidents with a dog then that person looses their license to own them.
March 13th, 2006 at 11:23 am
Exactly what I said to my partner the other day. You only have to look at the owners of these dogs that have attacked. Nothing going on in there. No wonder the dogs take over!
March 15th, 2006 at 5:00 am
no don’t be ignorant and snobbish
we should be encouraging proper registration and training of all breeds of dog and education for their owners before we become a real nany state and ban anything that has teeth or claws from coming near us
March 15th, 2006 at 7:05 pm
That’s a load of ‘ignorant bull sh*t’ if ever I heard any!
As a ‘working class’ council house tenant who has kept GSD’s and GSDX’s for over 50 years I object to your slanderous comments! My dogs have never attacked anyone or anything! I’ve only ever been attacked by one dog and that belonged to a woman who lived in a ‘Posh neighbourhood’ and it was a Labrador Retriever!!!!
Do you work for a living? If you do then you can call yourself what you like but you are still a member of the working class!
If I recall correctly it isn’t that long ago that a certain Princess was in trouble over her ‘viscious’ dog and I believe it bit someone in a house far more luxurious than any you’ll find in Hampstead!
I believe that people should have to prove their knowledge and understanding of ‘dogs’, have to show that they are capable of handling the ‘breed’ they choose, and should have to be licensed with certain groups being more difficult to get a license for! As I’ve been through several ‘Vetting’ procedures to adopt my dogs I know I could pass the test easily, I wonder how well you’d do?
March 18th, 2006 at 9:15 pm
Not all working class people own dogs who kill. That is such a sweeping statement. You don’t often hear of babies being mauled at all, it is rare. The class of the person has nothing to do with it, it is down their capability and knowledge as a dog owner. I’m quite sure you’ll find incapable people in middle and upper class areas too.

”The final solution” you sound like Hitler, actually youre whole question sounds like it was wrote by hitler!

I’m a mentally ill American, and I sure don’t need extra regulations that apply only to me on this side of the ocean! I hear your frustration – in this country, most homeowners insurance policies will not insure your home if you have a pit bull or rottweiler. A lot of people buy these dogs because they were victimized and they are afraid. I knew a tiny woman of asian ancestry who was a graduate of MIT and she bought a Rottweiler after her home was broken into twice in Los Angeles.
Don’t oversimplify this situation. It isn’t always “my dog is badder than your dog,” kind of thinking.
I own 4 violent lap, er, attack cats.
You can’t pigeonhole people based on their diagnosis or employment. Now, a person with a history of violence, that is another thing. There, you have a negative behavior that can be punished, but you can’t punish people because they got depressed or had to get a job as a clerk.
