I hear your frustration - in this country, most homeowners insurance policies will not insure your home if you have a pit bull or rottweiler. A lot of people buy these dogs because they were victimized and they are afraid. I knew a tiny woman of asian ancestry who was a graduate of MIT and she bought a Rottweiler after her home was broken into twice in Los Angeles. Don't oversimplify this situation. I believe that people should have to prove their knowledge and understanding of 'dogs', have to show that they are capable of handling the 'breed' they choose, and should have to be licensed with certain groups being more difficult to get a license for!
