I’m babysitting a shih tzu dog for a few days starting Wednsday. Is there anything I would need to know about them?

Shih tzu’s are infamous for nibbling at the toes of pet sitters. Plan accordingly!

Not really, I have a small breed dog myself. Just keep an eye as they can bolt. I would use a harness if you have one on the dog as if he pulls when on walks, it can hurt his trachea. Good luck & enjoy your little furry friend!

they can be a bit nippy, but they won’t hurt you without warning, they’re cute little dogs, but they aren’t the friendliest or cleanest

If you are babysitting the dog I would suggest that you speak to its owners, They should know what their dog`s habits & personality are……The dog at this point is-.it is what it is, & you should be treating it within the same parameters as it is treated at home. It may act out in any number of ways,as it will be in a strange, place…are you prepared? are you experienced with dogs? This dog is being left in your care, be vigilant in every aspect…

Yeah, don’t fall in love with it, because I don’t think the owner would be happy to come home to no doggy there……Shih Tzu dogs and puppies are all around good dogs. Some may be nippy, but I’m sure if it was nippy you wouldn’t be doggy-sitting…..have fun! I’m sure you will.
