A friend of mine wants to buy a Shepherd and shave him to control shedding. I am really upset with her. Told her that she should not buy a Shepherd if she is going to shave him and that she should consider another breed. She insists that shaving is not only OK but recommended by Vets.

Am I wrong or is she?

But im scared, to breed her, I dont want anything to happen to her. But i would love to have puppies with her quality.
I wouldnt even sell the puppies either.
I bought a good quality black pug, and he is almost old enough to breed by the time she should be in heat.
Im having second thoughts should i go through with it?

I have a 6 year old schnauzer that is called a “miniature”. He is a dark salt and pepper and way outside the size boundaries for a miniature (16 inches tall and 30 to 35 pounds) but a little below those of a standard. He is a beautiful dog with great muscle tone and confirmation. He is much calmer than most miniatures but very loyal to family and at times very playful. So, he seems to have some miniature and some standard characteristics. Could he have a standard grandparent(s)?

I have a beautiful tri-color cocker spaniel. To me, her coat is wonderful but it’s not exactly long and luxurious like those I see in show photos. Hers is very wavy and has an excellent sheen. I’ve never been to an actual show and have no idea how to start. Is there any information online that I can use to evaluate her myself? If not, how do I find a reputable person to evaluate her for me? Also, why do some cocker spaniels have the long, fluffy coats and others do not? Is there something I can do to help her coat grow longer?
