Paranormal Princess asked:
I live with my parents and my dad is talking about gettting a dog. We have 2 cats- one is almost 14 and the other one is 7 years old. Dad’s cat passed away in February of this year and he’s been talking about getting a dog ever since. Dad talks about getting a Lab or a border collie, but I don’t think either one of those dog breeds would be the most compatible with our 2 cats. Mom’s 7 year old cat is very territorial of the back porch and attacks any animal that comes on or near it and my 14 year old cat runs whenever an animal comes in the house. Mom’s alllergic to dog hair, so we can’t have a longhaired breed dog. What kind of dog gets along well with cats, because Dad’s starting to get serious about getting a dog?

crystalicks asked:
I love dogs and I have been doing a lot of research on them for the past few months. I have looked after a dog for a few days as well and I am sure that I know the type of things they need. I really want one for myself, as a pet and I am sure that I will be able to look after it but I have a small problem. I have asthma and even though I am not allergic to all dogs (thankfully) there are some dogs that are not as helpful to me as others. I just wondered what would be the best type of dog for asthmatics. Everyone that I ask says poodles but I don’t like them because I found out that they shed a lot of hair. I want a small, short haired dog that is friendly to children and will be happy living in a family environment. If possible, they should be good with other dogs too and not so much money spent on grooming. I am happy taking it out to walks every day. If you have any sugestions, please tell me. It would be really apperciated.

grateful living asked: We are in the early stages of making plans to adopt a dog. We are aware that adopting means we will most likely get a mixed breed but we have heard conflicting info on which dogs are compatible with young children.
The children are old enough to respect a dog but just the same we want a dog that will play but not too rough.
I’m just looking for some ideas so when it is time to start looking we know which dogs to rule out.

Hannah H asked: I am looking for something that I can do that I will love and enjoy. I love animals most of all dogs and theres nothing like having babies to take care of. My mother in law breeds exotic bird and I know that she loves it, I just need some great web sites to look at and some starter tips. What do I need? How much do shots and registered papers cost? Where do you buy breeding dogs? How many pups can a small breed of a dog have in one litter?

Samantha A asked: As a first pet I have been looking at
boxer dogs as they are great family pets, have come across one that is crossed with a greyhound, but it does have more traits from the
boxer appearence wise, anyone with info on cross breeds? Is it wiser to buy just a pure pedigree boxer?

frooliemew asked: I have two young children and would like to get a dog. We have two cats but I feel like it’s time for a dog. I don’t want a large dog but I don’t want one of those small old lady dogs either (I won’t be putting it in the shopping cart to go to the grocery). I would prefer short hair because I don’t want to be vacuuming up dog hair all the time.
