I’m looking for a breed of dog that has the intelligence and loyalty of a German Shepherd, but in a smaller size…..around 45lbs or so.

I used to own an American Bulldog who sadly met a most unfortunate accident and was put to sleep. Needless to say it took sometime to get over the loss of a great dog. Now it’s roughly a year later and I think I’m ready to get a new pet. Finding an American Bulldog without going throuhg a breeder is next to impossible. But to hear my dear mother tell it, it can be done. So I need some other options, what other type of dog can I get; large breed preferably, that won’t cause me to shell out a large portion of my pockets.

Me and my family have decided we want a dog. We have owned dogs before, but they never went well. Allot of the time, the dog either chews things, or is just not compatible with us. Now, many of my friends and cousins have dogs that fit perfectly with their family. How do I know which one is good?

Im looking for a dog, not very active, but not lazy at the same time. No shedding please. Also we’d like the dog medium to large size, that is a good outdoor dog, that we can stil bring inside.

My family is wanting to get a large dog, we don’t care for small dogs that bark too much. But we are a little confused when it comes to the breed of dog we want because we hear about dogs that have bad temperments and are not good with children. We have three children ages are 10, 7, 5. We just need a dog that would be a good watch dog, but gentle and loving with our kids. Can anyone help?
We want to keep him inside, so we need a breed that would house train easily, too.

I live with my parents and my dad is talking about gettting a dog. We have 2 cats- one is almost 14 and the other one is 7 years old. Dad’s cat passed away in February of this year and he’s been talking about getting a dog ever since. Dad talks about getting a Lab or a border collie, but I don’t think either one of those dog breeds would be the most compatible with our 2 cats. Mom’s 7 year old cat is very territorial of the back porch and attacks any animal that comes on or near it and my 14 year old cat runs whenever an animal comes in the house. Mom’s alllergic to dog hair, so we can’t have a longhaired breed dog. What kind of dog gets along well with cats, because Dad’s starting to get serious about getting a dog?

I love dogs and I have been doing a lot of research on them for the past few months. I have looked after a dog for a few days as well and I am sure that I know the type of things they need. I really want one for myself, as a pet and I am sure that I will be able to look after it but I have a small problem. I have asthma and even though I am not allergic to all dogs (thankfully) there are some dogs that are not as helpful to me as others. I just wondered what would be the best type of dog for asthmatics. Everyone that I ask says poodles but I don’t like them because I found out that they shed a lot of hair. I want a small, short haired dog that is friendly to children and will be happy living in a family environment. If possible, they should be good with other dogs too and not so much money spent on grooming. I am happy taking it out to walks every day. If you have any sugestions, please tell me. It would be really apperciated.
