How has the Poodle Club changed over the past 10 years?

I used to go to dog shows with my mom when I was a kid, and I was wondering if anyone knows how the Poodle Club has changed? Is it still mainly for professional breeders (aka. puppy farmers). I’d also like to start showing my Standard Poodle, but the last time I did that was as a little girl, and the judges naturally weren’t as strict, since it wasn’t a ‘real’ dog show.
