Do most people have their dogs trained?

Is it better to have a professional who has more experience to train your dog or is it better for YOU to train your dog?

This is a long story but I really REALLY need some help here. I am moving tonight and we are allowed to have indoor pets only. I currently have a 7 year old Australian Sheppard that I absolutely refuse to part with. The only thing is, she’s been an outdoor dog all of her life. She’s the type of dog that enjoys digging holes and sleeping in them just so she can be extra dirty. Her other hobbies include, chasing cats, killing birds (it’s so gross) and rolling in horse manure and/or dead animal carcases. Okay so the real point of my question is, do you think she’d be able to be trained to be an indoor dog? I really love her to death and I refuse to take her to the pound. Has anyone had any experience in training dogs? Please, I need all the advice I can get!!!
She is trained, she does walk on a leash and she as great at following commands. . I also believe dogs were meant to be free and run She will be tied up outdoors for at least three or four hours every day that way the transition isn’t too much of a shock for her but I have no choice here and I’d rather have her inside with me than get put to sleep at the local pound.
I have had this dog since I was 12 and she was my best friend growing up. I didn’t just leave her in the yard to fend for herself. We would build little forts together, she goes on every one of my camping trips, and my husband and I take her hiking at least three times a week. I guess I’m just worried that she’s going to shit and piss every where and chew stuff up. I’m very willing to work with her and I have the time and patience to do so.

I have a 5 month old Shih tzu and she has brought so much joy into our family. I was curious to hear from other people with shih tzu’s and what they love and what they don’t love.

I have my pure-bred rottweiler in Russia. I want to bring it here. Would I need to have any special licenses, papers or anything to have her here?
Thanks.
Well, there is no problems with brining dogs in the USA as long as they have rubbies and proper vactination.
Would I need to have some permit from the government that my rottweiler isn’t agressive and doesn’t a threat to people?
Or would it be enough to have just a dog-permit?
I already brought my sheltie here. And I sent dogs to russia I did NOT ask about paperwork of transporting or traveling. I ASKED about HAVING it here.

My husband is concerned about getting a dog that is aggressive or too dominant. I have read a bit about boxers and they seem like really good dogs but I am looking for some general information about them from people who actually have one.

Whenever I take my dog to Petsmart he’s always bullying the other dogs. No matter male or female. He’s great with other people approaching him, but if they have a dog that wants to play and it approaches mine, he’s growling and snarling and not wagging his tail in a playful manner. I took him to meet my bf’s dog lastnight he was fine with the Chihuahua, but meeting his other dog, who is twice his size, he wanted to attack him. The other dog wasn’t showing any signs of aggressiveness, he’s laid back and just wanted to sniff him…but my dog snarled and growled and wanted to fight. I have a boxer/pitbull mix. His name is Petey and he’s 2 years old. I also have another pitbull (female) named Jolee, she’s 4 yrs. old, and they get along great. How can I train Petey to not be aggressive around other dogs? It’s frustrating because he’s not the mean aggressive type and sends the wrong message to other dog owners that he’s vicious when he’s not. HELP!
I have stopped taking him to Petsmart. Jolee is the only one that can go with me, she doesn’t mind other dogs, male or female coming around her. She’s the complete opposite of Petey.
I can never take him off his leash, when we are out. He’s always on a leash, unless he’s at home or in the backyard.
Everytime he’s aggressive, I pull say “no” firmly, and pull him away from the situation and say “no” firmly again.

I can’t afford a professional trainer.

How do I train my toy poodle when he won’t listen to me no matter what tone I take with him? He’ll listen to my husband but when I tell him no he runs around in circles and barks at me. I try to discipline him the same way my husband does but he wags his tail like it’s a game. How do I make him listen? He’s out of control when people come over!! I can’t get him to calm down!! He’s five months old and won’t learn anything that we try to teach him.
