My boyfriends ex wife wants to take their daughters puppy for obedience training.
The daughter doesn’t live with us but the puppy does.
The X refuses to have the dog at her house so the daughter sees the pup when she visits my boyfriends house.
If the daughter doesn’t live with the dog how can she reinforce what’s been learned at obedience school?
If my boyfriend and I reinforce the training then it really won’t be the daughter’s dog …will it?
Why would the X want to pay for obedience training for the puppy that she won’t allow to live with her daughter?
It doesn’t make sense to me.
My boyfriend and I have two very well behaved dogs that we’ve worked with ourselves – so what’s the big deal with the training?
neither me or my boyfriend will be able to go to the training with the daughter – only the X is taking her and the dog – and then bringing just the dog back to our house.

I have a 51/2 month old Goldendoodle pup that is VERY intelligent and knows all the basic commands of sit, come, stay and bedtime (goes to her crate) and rings a bell to go potty outside!
I feel like she may be to advanced for the Petsmart puppy training. Can anyone explain what she may possibly learn that she hasn’t already by attending? I’d hate to spend money on training that is already being incorporated into her daily life.

I’m a new mom a beautiful baby girl. She is now 6 weeks old. From the time I have brought her home my old baby has been jealous (a 6 year old pug.)I can’t get her stop peeing on the floor. She hasn’t done this since she was a pup. I love her to death and getting rid of her is really not an option. I just need to start over with her I think? Any advice????

We have a doberman puppy that is 14 weeks old, and we have recently started training him for Schutzhund. He is doing really well with the bite rag, and doing everything he should with that. My problem is that he doesn’t want to focus on me when we are doing his obedience work. He only wants to focus on his treat, not look at me, which is what he is supposed to do. I was reading an article about getting them to focus, and i tried it, which was they said to have a treat, and hold it away from you, and get your dog to look at you then give it the treat. I tried that, and all my pup would do is look at the treat for ever, then get bored, and loose interest. So i need some more ideas how to get this to work. He is a very smart puppy, he already knows sit, and down, but he gets confused sometimes. Does this mean he just doesn’t really know what he is doing?? How can we fix this also? How long do you wait before you start to teach him a new trick after he has leaned the first one?
Also, any advice on Schutzhund training would be very appreciated. I don’t know much about it, i have been researching it alot, but still feel confused. He have a trainer that is working with us, but he is just worried about Phoenix, our pup, on getting used to the bite rag and doing that, not about the obedience work, and the scenting and all that, just the bite rag. So, i am wanting to know, what all should we be doing with him now, at 14 weeks. What should he know, and what all should we do to get him a good start in this??? Thanks!!!
sorry this is alot, and a few questions, i am not trying to be confusing, just wanting to know a few different things, and didn’t want to make different posts. Thank you all for you “helpful” answers

I am looking to buy a small toy/tiny toy poodle, but can not afford $1500 for one, I live in Illinois and am willing to travel to pick up a new poodle baby, any info I get would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks
I have owned poodles before, I know about grooming and vet checks, I just can’t see giving that much for one when two years ago I could get the same thing for a third of the price. I have other dogs as well, So I am not dog stupid or little dog stupid as I have owned the breed, but the lady I bought my last poodle from has raised her prices to well over $1500 a pup. I will check the local shelter, and area shelters. Thanks
