well first off you need to take her to vet so she can get all of her puppy shots to help prevent her from common diseases a pup can easily catch. You should crate train her at night and when you leave to help house train her. You can even enroll her into obedience classes, its better to start them while she is a pup. give her alot of attention and play with her!

The first thing I have to say is that your Shep is WAY too young to be away from her mother. The minimum age a puppy should be taken away is 2 months.
So, with that said, you need to take her to the vet and let them know how young she is and ask if you should be doing anything special for her. In fact, as far as I know, she shouldn’t be be weaned at that age.
Either way, please take her to the vet, they can tell you everything you need to know.

Are you sure she is only one month old? She should still be with her mother until at least eight weeks…
Here in the Uk the puppy can have its first vaccinations from six weeks of age, with the second lot at ten weeks. They should be wormed at two weeks, five weeks and eight weeks (although this varies slightly depending on what type of wormer your vet recommends), and flea treatment can start from around eight weeks, using a spot-on treatment like Frontline.
Until she has all her vaccinations, do not let her mingle with other possibly unvacc’d dogs, or walk in places where other dogs will have been… carry her or keep her in your garden until a week after her second shots.
You can start teaching from the moment you get her. Sit is an easy command – if you hold a little titbit above her nose, she will automatically sit down as she looks up at it and you can say ‘sit’ as she does so, then immediately reward her. Look into clicker training – this is an excellent way of teaching as it is much easier to reward the correct behaviour with this method – there are several books available, and you may find a local clicker training class. I’d encourage you to attend puppy behaviour classes anyhow – you will learn the best methods of training your dog, and she will benefit from socialising with other young animals.
First stop should be your vet, who can give you all the medical advice you need, and quite possibly recommend the good trainers in the area. Good luck – I’ve owned GSDs and they are fabulous, bright, intelligent dogs – training her should be pretty easy and very rewarding.

Now – Worming – take a stool sample to your Vet. Bordatella for kennel cough, and 1st. health check.
6-9-12-15 wks. Parvo combo.
12 to 16 weeks Rabies.
Do not let the pup around other dogs outside of your home. Do not take to areas where other dogs go, except for Vet. Do not put on floor at Vet’s office. Vet will tell you when it’s safe to socialize around other dogs.
Crate training is generally considered best. Just do a web search, and you will find many articles on this.
Not sure why you have 4 week old pup! Way too young to be away from Mom, unless there was a problem.
Best of luck.

If you don’t know then you should NOT have it.
