Dog Food Secrets!
No other dog has the disposition of a golden. Labs have a similar disposition.

None really. Their temperament is what sets them apart. There are lots of great breeds with gentle temperaments but none is like a golden retriever.
Labs have great temperaments and are usually affectionate but tend to be more intense and driven and less happy-go-lucky.
The closest I have found is the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel – a very affectionate people dog, but they are a very different dog – a toy breed and not a sporting breed.

Dove Cresswells Dog Training
The Golden Retriever is actually a cross breed between a yellow lab and an Irish Setter. It’s a created breed….and it takes on the characteristics of both. The friendly, happy-go-lucky personality of the lab and the long (shedding nightmare) hair of the setter. I have a lab/golden/border collie mix but I’ve always loved the Golden the best. They are wonderful dogs…beautiful and friendly and smart!

Goldens are the only bred that have that exact disposition, but Labs are nice, and most of the scent hounds and gun dogs..I had a collie/Golden mix who was the best dog ever,so you can find wonderful mutts with great dispositons, too. Just go searching!!
