		<description>The blockhead is more common in the English style Lab and part of the breed standard. They started to distinquish it more when the American type lab appeared (which does not have a blocky head).</description>

		<description>Labs, like other breeds, come in different &quot;types&quot;.  The term blockhead refers to a lab with a heavier head, as opposed to the labs with much more refined looking heads.  And there&#039;s no reason to care unless your dog is a show dog - it makes no difference to the dog!</description>

		<description>The big block heads are really the foundation of the breed.  You don&#039;t see many anymore.  Most of the labs look like mutts with there very skiny narrow head.  The block heads are wide muscular looking heads.  Its like a foundation QH  Its hard to come by the foundation Quarter horses that are built strong and stocky, well muscular.   Now we got more thin looking QH&#039;s that look like small TB&#039;s.  Everything is getting bred out of everything cause standards keep changing between breeds.</description>
