Anyone that sales puppies online is either a backyard breeder or a puppy mills. Never buy a dog online.

For breeder referrals.
DON’T buy a dog off a website. It could be a puppy mill or backyard breeder. You need to go, see the dog, meet the parents, see the kennels, see the pedigrees, know genetic testing and certification has been done.

By looking at the CKC website and finding good breeders. I live near mississauga, and mostly every one is a back yard breeder. dont get caught up with them. no pet stores either. good breeders show their dogs, and do proper tests such as OFA testing

Try Petfinder. Alot of times they have pure bred dogs and puppies available. And sometimes they have the breed you want mixed with something else and they are even cuter! Plus, you’ll be saving a life!

You’ll probably want to expand your search to a larger area (Ontario), but still close enough for you to visit the kennel in person.
