The only difference is in their color. There are no other differences, they are all Labs.

nothing. a lab is a lab is a lab. but remember, individual dogs WILL have their own unique personality traits.

First, black labradors are the niced and the most docile
Second, yellow labs are not as nice as the black labrador but they still make good pets
Finally, the chocolate labradors are the least nice and less docile then the black and yellow labs.

indyanakin4 you have no idea what you’re talking about. Personality has to do with parents and upbringing, not color.
A lab is a lab is a lab indeed, regardless of coat color. There is no other difference.

They are the same breed, just different colors. Just like with chihuahuas, there are many colors, blue, white, black, chocolate, spotted, brindle, sable, etc…..same breed only different colors. And by the way there is a yellow lab, not a gold one.

Actually, every dog in the world has a different personilaty. Do you like jumpy and barky or do you like quiet? Try to pick out your perfect pup. Good Luck!

Indiana got hold of a bit of information, and then got a bit mixed up.
Here is what she/he is (probably) referring to. They did statistics on the basis of how many dog bites were reported that needed medical intervention, and compaired the different colours in a given breed.
Amongst the labradors, the ones with the
HIGHEST incidence of bites are the yellow labs,
then second highest are the black labs,
the chocolote have the lowest incidence.
This result is already the “cleaned up” version, that is the different numbers in each colour dog population has been taken into account.
What I found most interesting is, that the same “pattern” seems to apply for Cocker Spaniels.
The Golden ones have the highest “bite rate”,
then the black,
and the lowest are the two-coloured.
So, there clearly IS a difference between the colours. So far this is only bare factual information, the reason why is still being researched.
