Labs are not excessively prone to being territorial, pining, insecurity, aggression, destructiveness, hypersensitivity, or other difficult traits which sometimes manifest in a variety of breeds. They have a reputation as a very mellow breed and an excellent family dog, including a good reputation with children of all ages and other animals. Their fun-loving boisterousness and lack of fear may require training and firm handling at times to ensure it does not get out of hand.

Mastiffs are a combination of grandeur, dignity, and courage; calm and affectionate to its master, but capable of guarding. The breed is innately good natured, calm, easygoing, and surprisingly gentle. It is a well-mannered house pet but needs sufficient room to stretch out. This is an extremely loyal breed and though not excessively demonstrative, it is devoted to its family and good with children.

In effect, I believe your mix of the two will be very loyal, perhaps either fast-paced or mellow, as well as affectionate towards family and children. It may be gentle as well as carefree but as with any dog, should have a firm background in training.

Labs are super sweet, usually, and Mastiffs and big, sweet babies. Mastiffs are good around kids, as are Labs. But, like it was said before, mixes can be unpredictable.

He's a mix so it's really hard to tell.

Can you meet his parents? That's probably the best indication. If not, it's really going to be a toss up. Read about both breeds.

HOWEVER - if he's a pup, he will be what YOU make of him. If you treat him well, socialize him, train him and work with him, he can be anything you want - which of course is - just a great dog.

No way to know, you need to ask the people who have the dog now, or go meet him and get to know him.

Each dog is an individual, there are no sure things about any breed as to temperament - and you have two breeds here mixed.

Since it is a mixed breed, there is no way to know for sure. Mixes are very unpredictable, he could be like a lab, like a mastiff, or anywhere in between.
