Maybe people are more afraid than hateful toward them.

It is PC to hate these dogs. If you aren’t PC you get your yahoo account suspended.

I’m more against morons who get dogs as status symbols and don’t respect the needs of the breed. All dogs are wonderful in my opinion (ok, except maybe Boston Terriers, but that’s just because they gross me out. If I don’t have to hear them breathing, no problem with them either.)

yes they are great animals i love them kind of dogs but the only reason why they don’t like them is because they can turn on you.

pits and rotties- people just believe what the media has to say
wolf mixes- wolves are wild animals not domestic. wolves dont like people, and wolves dont want to be around people. no matter what the dog will always have more of the wild instinct in it than any other dog. i mean tell me would u ever have a wolf living in ur home being your companion. chances are not. wolves are beautiful in the wild modern domestic dogs are just that, they are DOMESTIC it is their place to live with man and work with them. wolves are wild. let them be beautiful in the wild

Because SO MANY owners don’t know how to control them, never get them obedience trained, encourage aggression, get them for all the wrong reasons (they’re cool, they can bite, they act aggressive if you push them), and they perpetuate the problems that we always see in the news.

I’m not against them at all, infact I have worked with all three.
However, they are NOT good choices for novice owners. Fact is these dogs can be DANGEROUS when nto properly cared for!
It’s not fair for the dog that they have to live a miserable life because of uneducated owners.

Properly socialized pit bulls and rottie are the best friends you can have. Most people train their big dog to be respectful just so that they can take their dogs places and prove people wrong about them being vicious. I love talking to people with the little cute dog that bark and bite and nip at people. the ones who come to the dog park and run around and “Yap Yap yap” at everyone and nip at the big dogs that are minding their own business. And when you ask them to control their dog or when the dog bites at you they say” Oh its just a Yorkie” And i say what if it were a Rottie, would it make things any better” Look at my Pit Bull he is playing with the Great Dane not biting or barking and has never tried to bite anyone. Most people have a double standard when it comes to big dogs and little dogs.

I think the answers given already should give you a general consensus of the feelings of people on Yahoo Answers. Majority are not against these breeds. We are strongly opinionated on ignorant dog owners. Especially wolf mix owners, since it takes special licensing/housing to own one in most areas.

I have a rottie rescue that was abused as a pup. She has since went through training, and is the best dog I have ever owned. I love taking her places to show people just how well behaved she is, and to let people see that rotties aren’t the blood thirsty killers they are painted up to be.
Sure, there are some unstable ones out there due to abuse, bad breeding, and lack of training, but that’s with any dog.
people need to think for themselves, and not listen to the slanted views of the press.
And I agree with Landry, if I let my dog yap and nip at someone’s heel like I have seen with some smaller dogs, it would be a death sentence for her.

Poor education! ALL of those dogs are make great pets. Its always the owner’s fault in why the dog turns out badly. If a Pit Bull, Wolf Hybrid or Rottie is raised right, it will turn out right, plain and simple.
I have seen a lot of hypocrites, too. They say that Pitts and Rotties are OK, but Wolf Hybrids are these wild, dangerous, killer, crazy animals that shouldn’t be with other pets and children.
I have owned MANY Wolf Hybrids in my life, and they are all the loyalest, friendliest, loving dogs that anyone has never seen. I would trust my Wolf Hybrids with any children big and small. They wouldn’t hurt a fly.
What people say about Wolf Hybrids being undomesticated evil dogs is completely untrue, and is just all made up in their heads due to their ignorance and fear of a type of dog that they know nothing about.

people use these animals as a status symbol or for monetary gain. it is not the animal but the lack of respect from the owners toward them.
